Toni Moore has enjoyed cooking since she was a young girl and begin her professional career after graduating from the California Culinary Academy in 1984. Her love of Mexico began in 1970 when she attended summer school in Torreon and had the opportunity to live with a local family. She brings these two passions to Comida para el Corazon y el Alma: Traditional Mexican food for a healthy lifestyle.
Toni has worked in San Francisco and Napa Valley restaurants, spending many years at the Hayes Street Grill in San Francisco. Working with Patricia Unterman, the restaurant's owner and one of the bay area’s leading supporters of sustainable food, she was able to patronize the local farmers market for seasonal produce to incorporate into her menus. Currently, she works as a private chef and cater.
She has studied regional Mexican cuisine with Diana Kennedy, organized culinary tours to Oaxaca & Puebla, and attended classes at the Mexican Home Cooking School in Tlaxcala. She travels regularly to Mexico and continues to educate her palate whenever the opportunity presents itself.
