Aida Cuevas began singing in amateur contests at the age of 11 and soon was discovered for her outstanding talent. Her first national exposure was on a weekly live radio program called “El Taller XEW” in 1975 at the age of 12. And one year later she was performing in Europe; this was the start of many international performances that would soon establish her as the “Ambassador of Mexican Music”.
Aida Cuevas also known as “The Diva of Mariachi Music” has performed all over the world in venues like the Madison Square Garden, The Hollywood Bowl, National Auditorium and The Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico. She has shared the stage with various international artists like Placido Domingo, Celia Cruz, Juan Gabriel, Gloria Estefan, Luciano Pavarotti and Vicente Fernandez among others. She has been awarded at international festivals such as “OTI International” and “Viña Del Mar” just to name a few. She has sung for many personalities like United States presidents Gerald Ford, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, the Sha of Iran, Pierre Tradeau, The Kings of Spain, Sean Connery, all of the presidents of Mexico from Luis Echeverria to the current president Felipe Calderón.
Her unique voice and style has allowed her to cultivate a successful and long lasting career. She continues bringing joy to millions of people around the world with her voice and music, clearly leaving a remarkable imprint in the music history of Mexico and Latin America.
